Public Administration
Public Administration is a term that is being used increasingly in the German-speaking region for all public
administration institutes and their closely associated organisations and companies.
This area includes the Swiss confederate departments and offices, cantonal and urban administrations,
national and international organisations (GO's and NGO's), universities, schools and much more.
Our expertise
Siemens IT Solutions and Services is a leading provider of solutions for public administration in Western Europe.
We have been supporting public institutes with our well-founded IT and industry know-how for 40 years.
Integrated understanding of sequences and processes is the central theme that runs through all of our solutions,
and the ability to bring the latest technologies such as RFID, mobile communication, biometry or PKI to practical
maturity and to integrate them in intelligent solutions is one of our particular strengths.
As your IT partner we don’t just take care of consulting and implementation, we also take responsibility
as your partner for outsourcing projects or Public Private Partnerships. Together with you we work to lower
your costs noticeably, for example through the use of island solutions with networks that function efficiently,
and with our open, web-based solutions you can at the same time achieve the quality of service that citizens
expect from public institutes nowadays.
The knowledge of the entire Siemens corporation and the project experience of our 7,000 public sector IT specialists
is also at your disposal. Ask us about our references in your particular task area – we look forward to hearing from you.
Solutions are our strength
The solutions required here are equally as multifaceted as public administration itself: eGovernment,
web and WAP applications, portals, content management and editorial systems, integration solutions for
heterogeneous task areas, purchase and sales marketplaces, data warehouse applications, workflow management
and much more.
Whichever solution is required: Siemens develops the complete individual software for public administration using the latest technologies and qualified products.
Public Private Partnership (PPP) – new forms of cooperation
Cooperation between public administration and private business is now accepted at all levels as an instrument for the fulfilment of public tasks.
This cooperation can take place in various legal and organisational forms.
Depending on the degree of steering and control in your processes that you wish to retain or surrender as the case may be,
the following forms of cooperation and organisation lend themselves:
- The programme/project/service is institutionalised within the administration but with a self-contained form of organisation (matrix).
- The program/project/service is outsourced from the administration, whereby the administration remains a shareholder (no external shareholders).
- The program/project/service is founded as a PPP organisation with private cooperation partners.
- A self-contained company is founded for programme/project/service, or it is given to an external company (outsourcing).
We offer you a partnership-like cooperation in order to meet the challenges of the public sector in the sense of eGovernment.
